Fortum Corporate Financial Services (CFS) provides Fortum Corporation and its subsidiaries with solutions for accounting, taxation, payroll, travel and expense claims, and financial reporting. Fortum CFS employs 190 people and serves users in multiple countries including Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Poland. Fortum CFS's servers and applications are managed in Finland.
Attido has been Fortum CFS's partner in information systems development and management since the late 1990s. Over more than a decade, both companies have grown and expanded, while Attido has gained its current business organization and name. From the beginning, the relationship has been based on trust and rock-solid competence on both sides.
"Attido's professionals are extremely committed to their tasks, and they always try to work for the best benefit of the customer. The level of service is excellent, and Attido responds very quickly to urgent situations. The company has deep expertise in our applications and especially in database management,", says Ensio Väisänen, Head of Corporate Financial Shared Service Center, Fortum.
Originally, Attido served as technical solutions consultant, providing Fortum CFS with support services for Oracle Financials software. Soon, this role expanded into developing customized applications, since ready-made solutions for Fortum CFS's needs did not exist.
"Attido adds value to the services we provide. Their work has contributed to speeding up our processes as we have ramped up the degree of automation,", says Ensio Väisänen.
Attido's custom solutions for Fortum include eMemo, for automation of bookkeeping documents, and PaWe, for tracking and managing work hours and vacations. The latter is in wider use in Fortum and its subsidiaries.
Currently, Attido provides Fortum CFS with systems management and maintenance services, troubleshoots IT-related problems, develops new applications, and participates in development projects.
When something goes wrong, speed and know-how can save the customer's day. Every minute the system is down costs money and frustrates users. Attido specializes in responding rapidly to problems, even outside regular office hours.
"Attido has been able to solve systems-related problems even when the issue had nothing to do with their solution. This speaks about commitment and the wide scope of their expertise,", says Väisänen.
"The demands on financial management are more demanding each year, and solutions need to be updated constantly. As Attido has grown as a company, their offering has also expanded. This will very likely be a direct benefit for us in the future," says Ensio Väisänen.
Fortum CFS operates systems and services from many different providers, which also increases the challenges of solutions management.
"Attido's strength is that they know exactly how to operate in a demanding multivendor environment such as ours. It's incredibly important to understand the entire system and how its components depend on each other. It is simply not enough to just know your own area of specialization inside out," Ensio Väisänen concludes.
"Fortum CFS is our longest-standing customer, and we are proud to have been working with them continuously for over a decade. However, we are not resting on our laurels; we constantly recruit new professionals for our team, and make sure our entire staff stays abreast of the latest developments. Or - better yet - a bit ahead of them," says Pasi Matsi, Managing Director, Attido.
